Description
The need for laboratory hygene is paramount when examining DNA evidence. The new 170litre UVCTM1000 cabinet features six shortwave ultraviolet lamps generating over 60Watts of 254nm radiation to destroy all exposed DNA on the surface of items in order to prevent the cross contamination of evidence.To provide a safe working environment, the UVCTM1000 is fitted with ozone free lamps and the operator is protected from UV radiation by interlocks to ensure that lamps cannot be activated until the cabinet door is securely closed.
The chamber contains UV transparent quartz shelves and a rail to support or suspend items for decontamination. To minimise blind spots the back and sides of the unit are coated internally with UV reflective film to ensure that the contents are irradiated from all directions.
