Russell Comparator

A bench top optical projection system for matching scene-of-crime fingerprints to records.

Features include:

  • ×5 magnification of prints
  • independent lighting and focusing controls
  • identification features can be marked up on screen

The Russell Comparator offers a convenient way of comparing fingerprints, providing brightly lit images at enhanced magnification side by side for examination.

Scene-of-crime and record fingerprints are placed on the top of the instrument and held in place under weighted holders.

The high quality optical projection systems with independent focussing and intensity control produce evenly lit images. The field of view is 35mm² and the final image size is 164mm², allowing features to be easily marked-up on the ground glass screens.
