Compact forensic light source kit for crime scene investigations

The Crime-lite^® C2 is a new compact forensic light source kit for crime scene investigators. The kit comprises of two high intensity, battery powered, forensic light sources, providing broad band white light for general search and narrow band blue light, 430 to 470nm, for detecting fluorescent material. The kit is complete with a pair of orange wraparound glasses, for viewing fluorescence, and two coloured filters, that fit the white Crime-lite^®, for enhancing the contrast of evidence such as blood splatter on coloured backgrounds. Fitted into a compact nylon pouch, that can be worn on a belt, the complete kit is easy to carry and deploy.

Both Crime-lites are from Foster Freeman’s standard range which are fitted with powerful 5W LED lamps that provide exceptionally high intensity radiant output, more powerful than most traditional forensic light sources.

The Crime-lites can be fitted with high power 7000mAh rechargeable D cells that give approximately 2 hours’ operating time per charge. As well as providing high intensity, Crime-lites produce even, shadowfree, beams that improve the visibility of evidence.
