A compact and portable forensic
light source for the detection of latent fingerprints,
fibres, body fluids and other trace evidence at scenes-of-crime
and in the laboratory.
Features include:
- powerful 300W Xenon arc lamp producing 4W of visible
light
- liquid light guide, full range of viewing goggles and
camera filters
- safety features including low radiance cone
- protective face masks for use with UV waveband
- approved by the UK Police Scientific Development Branch
The Quaser 2000/30 provides intense visible and ultraviolet
light and a wide range of filters for detecting fingerprints,
fibres, body fluids and narcotics, evidence that can be detected
as a result of either enhanced reflection, intrinsic fluorescence
or through the application of fluorescent stains.
The light source is supplied with a 2 metre liquid light
guide, 5 pairs of viewing goggles, a pair of full face masks
for protection against reflected UV and a set of camera filters
to enable the operator to take permanent photographic records.
Safety features:
Intense visible light can damage eyesight permanently
but safety features built into the Quaser 2000/30 reduce
this risk significantly. A unique low radiance cone is
fitted to the light guide to expand the emitted beam. This
reduces the risk of permanent eye damage, even when the beam
is accidently viewed at close range, without reducing the
effectiveness of the lamp.
Other features include power and shutter controls to prevent unauthorised and
accidental use.
The Quaser 2000/30 has been designed and tested in collaboration
with the Police Scientific Development Branch, a UK government
agency, and is approved for use by UK police forces.
