Our mutual obligations with regard
to the disposal of Waste Electrical
and Electronic Equipment (WEEE)
as required by the UK WEEE regulations: 2006 SI 3289
Foster & Freeman Ltd and our customers in the European Community are now
required, between us, to dispose of Electrical and Electronic equipment that is no
longer used or required (WEEE), in a safe and responsible manner. Such disposal
will of course involve costs.
Rather than add these 'environmental costs' to the price of our equipment Foster &
Freeman has decided that it will be fairer if we shared them but at the time of
disposal.
Therefore our approach is:
- for Foster & Freeman to pay for the cost of treatment and recycling of the WEEE of
our manufacture to meet the targets set by the WEEE Regulations and the cost of the
data management and reporting to the Environment Agency to demonstrate
compliance with all administrative requirements of the WEEE Regulations.
- and for you, our customer, to pay for the transportation to Foster & Freeman Ltd of
any of your waste equipment of our manufacture specified in the WEEE regulations.
Please note that this offer applies only to equipment manufactured or badged by us.
It does not apply to any equipment supplied by us but manufactured by another
company, such as computers, monitors, printers or microscopes.
